Want to create a prosthesis for athletes in track and field? Perhaps a carbon fiber casing would be suitable for the athlete. Utilizing feature tools in NX modifies the design to the personalized look that each patient wants. NX enables medical device manufacturers to quickly refine models in one environment with significant productivity improvements. The software enables faster innovation and optimization while reducing the cost of the product. NX seamlessly integrates design, simulation and manufacturing within a single platform. Benefits of integrating NX design software
SIEMENS NX SOFTWARE RPI FREE
Read the free white paper to learn more about developing prosthetic design with NX. NX delivers a virtual design approach that integrates mechanical, composite and additive manufacturing to open opportunities for the development of prosthetics. Siemens NX software allows medical device companies to innovate and realize the benefits of the next generation of product design. New technology, materials and manufacturing processes enable the development of medical devices that are more affordable, comfortable and faster to product. The demand for prosthesis is increasing, and medical companies are seeking ways to design these complex and personalized prosthetics.
Until SolidWorks can do that better than NX, RPI is not going to revisit this issue and will keep paying for NX licenses no matter how many undergrads use SolidWorks in their projects and reference the product in their reports. How Siemens NX improves prosthetics design That's just a straight-forward pragmatic decision of spending money on the product that best suits the department's needs. The platform requirement rules out SolidWorks, and the file format rules out Pro/E, Creo and Catia. And furthermore, we heavily rely on a meshing tool called Simmetrix that requires the geometry to be defined by a Parasolid file. It's because the department is very dominant in numerical computing, and the platform of choice for that (here or in the industry) is decisively Linux/Unix systems. There are practical reasons why we don't use SolidWorks in the Aero department though. Translating skills from one interface to another is a trivial task. The back-ends are almost always built on B-splines and the front-ends just don't matter. Once you've used once CAD/CAM software, you've used them all. I can't speak for the cost but the other two reasons you listed are very much inconsequential. We look forward to your feedback, and we hope you like working with SolidWorks this school year! Supporting every aspect of product development, from concept. NX delivers the next generation of design, simulation, and manufacturing solutions that enable companies to realize the value of the digital twin. When installing & downloading, you must continue to use your rpi.edu email address. Siemens NX software is a flexible and powerful integrated solution that helps you deliver better products faster and more efficiently. What's the catch? Please reference the "SolidWorks" product and/or "DS SolidWorks Corp." in your papers, presentation and ESPECIALLY your conversations with your advisor, professors & dean.įROM YOUR rpi.edu EMAIL ACCOUNT, send an email to we will register you. We encourage you to use SolidWorks for your undergrad studies & competitions & capstones.

SIEMENS NX SOFTWARE RPI DOWNLOAD
We have arranged for RPI students to download and activate a full copy of SolidWorks that will run until. Why? Students are our best resource for advocating our product in academia. We want to help you, and you can help us in return! SolidWorks employs many RPI grads, and we're sad to know that RPI dumped our product years ago in favor of a competitor's donations.
